Pending contracts remained active but uneven across the five-week span, with activity peaking mid-period before easing.
The pattern points to continued buyer engagement even as weekly momentum fluctuates.
Mortgage rates edged higher across the three comparison periods, with September slightly above August.
Estimated monthly payments also moved up modestly, keeping affordability sensitive to even small rate changes.
